Do Bed Bugs Freeze?

If a bed bug wanders outside, it will eventually freeze or die. They’re able

to lower the freezing point of their bodily fluids, allowing them to live in

the cold for a few days.  However, Bed bugs are a transfer bug, meaning they don’t get into your house

like a Stink Bug or Asian Lady bug, through cracks in a foundation or around

your windows and doors. They are carried or transferred into your house via a

person.

Bed Bugs Have a High Cold Tolerance

They can remain active at temperatures as low as 46 degrees, and they can survive at even lower

temperatures. If you keep your house at a cooler temperature during the winter

months, bed bugs may slow down, but they still stay active.
